I was watching the news the other night and they were talking about Christmas gift registries for kids…OK WHAT? REALLY? I couldn’t believe it but apparently people are doing it. Can’t say I’m for it or even agree with it! So let me get this straight, instead of teaching your child(ren) the TRUE meaning of Christmas you bring them to a place like Toys’r’us and create a Christmas gift registry for them? Ok yes they are children so there is nothing wrong with teaching them about good old Saint Nick, so what’s wrong with a letter or a visit to him? Personally this has brought Christmas gift giving to a whole new level and has gone overboard if you ask me! I was totally in shock to learn about this and you can bet your sweet a$$ that I will not be raising my daughter this way. Now a days our little ones are so fortunate and grow up with many things that we didn’t…shouldn’t we teach them to be happy with what they have and not always expect MORE (unless you are ok with raising a greedy little brat)? Christmas gift giving has gotten out of control where parents are buying 5 gifts per child and we aren’t talking about books or something educational either. If we as parents don’t stop to teach our children right from wrong, what’s important and what’s not, where will they learn this from and what kind of person will they grow up to be?
