It’s time to meet Suzanne…

Suzanne Colmer – Toronto’s Image & Style Queen

Every once in a while you meet someone in life that you just jive and connect with and that’s exactly what it was like for me when I met Suzanne Colmer of Your Shop Girl. She is smart, funny and creative. She is one badass chicky and Mamma and when it comes to style, she is your girl! Like legit, they don’t call her Toronto’s style and image Queen for nothing!

In the time that I’ve known Suzanne and she’s been dressing me, I can honestly say that she has changed my life and has made me a better person in all aspects of my life. Once upon a time,  I would wear whatever, not thinking twice. I had no idea of what my style was and I was never happy. Suzanne has not only helped me with my look and how to pick out the pieces that work for me but my confidence has skyrocketed as well. I never realized just how much of an impact your clothing and accessories can have on a person…emotionally and mentally! Think about how you feel when you throw on some frumpy unflattering clothes that don’t fit properly versus when you wear your fave jeans that make your ass look great! Not only do you look awesome but you feel amazing and when you feel amazing you are more confident which contributes to your happiness and overall well being!

Things that I have never thought about before like colours, shapes, pattern, and cuts, are all things that I look at differently now because of Suzanne and I have honestly never felt better! Since working with Suzanne, I have gotten many compliments and I don’t think it’s a coincidence either! How we dress has a direct impact on who we are, what we are about and the message we want to send out. We are our own brand and how we dress plays a major part in how we market ourselves.

With all that said, I’m so happy to announce that you will be seeing and hear more from Suzanne here as a guest blogger. She is going to share her tips and tricks, and give us advice andand insi on all things style and image related.

If you were to ask Suzanne to tell you a little bit about herself this is what she would have to say…

“Before I tell you who I am, let me start by telling you who I am not. I am not the person who is going to put you in clothes that like you, but you don’t like back. I will not force you to buy clothes that are out of your budget (in fact I LOVE a good deal). I will not criticize your past clothes choices or put you in styles without telling you why they work.

I will however, help you find your ideal style and show you exactly which shapes and cuts to try and which to avoid. I will also help you shop for a closet of clothes that will multitask flawlessly so you never have to worry about what to wear (or how to wear it).

When I started Your Shop Girl in 2008 I wanted it to reflect my style philosophy which focuses on educating and empowering you to help curate a closet full of clothes you will actually wear and love.

It all started over a decade ago when in an effort to combine my instincts with instruction once I completed my undergrad at the University of Toronto, I became a graduate of George Brown’s Image Consulting program. Then my thirst for knowledge lead me to the centre of fashion itself – Paris, France, where I studied at the Sorbonne University; then onto New York to conquer the Fashion Institute of Technology.”

How could I not share this amazing person with all your amazing Chic Mammas! Trust me she will change your life like she has changed mine and I can’t wait for her to share all her amazing insight, advice and tips with all of us.
